The “New Frontiers: The Origins and Content of New Work, 1940-2018” working paper by David Autor, Caroline Chin, Anna Salomons, and Bryan Seegmiller was featured in a recent article in the Financial Times. Martin Wolf points to the finding that the majority of workers today are employed in jobs which did not exist prior to 1940, and that the locus of this new work has driven a shift to highly paid professionals and low-paid services.
